Hello,

The weather has been good which means the afternoon westerly’s are here and with the tides getting bigger this should push more fish in to the Inlet. A few boats went to the head this morning and Dwayne guided William Ruckleshaus Jr to a 41 lb’er which he took a picture of and released it back to the water. The afternoons have seen a number of Coho out at the Golf Course and Swan Rock area with some early size to them. A 15 lb’er came to the dock today. The halibut fishing has been steady, and no Turbot which is always a bonus. See you soon,

It's always an exciting week, watching the lodge slowly wake from its winter hibernation and transform into the bustling hive of activity we all love. The staff have been working their tails off to make this happen but the sense of anticipation floating around makes it worth it. The lodge and boats are sparkling and ready for action!

Our first guests arrived today, and we look forward to an excellent season to come.

Welcome anglers!

to discuss a little bit about the fishing season last year and a bit about the
upcoming fishing season. Although much of this information can be found in our
most recent newsletter, I thought it bears repeating as we get closer to and
more excited for summer 2010.

When our trips start to fill up, and our guest list starts
to look a lot like what it will for the season, I start getting amped up.
Seeing all those familiar names brings back memories of their previous trips
and reminds me of why we’re in this business – to see great people have a trip
of a lifetime. How many of you remember the amazing Coho fishing from 2009? It
should be just as exciting to catch Chinook this year and I can’t wait to see
you bragging about your latest catch (or your latest release). The colder ocean
temperature and abundant food sources we have been seeing are making ocean
survival rates very high. Combine this with our very successful hatchery program,
and Rivers Inlet is looking to be one of the highlights on the coast this
summer.

It’s been a great experience getting to know those of you
who I have had the chance to meet. For those of you thinking of coming up this
year, please do! We have all of the factors to make your trip the best: calm
waters, scenery, camaraderie and a consistent level of high quality,
professional service and equipment. We will do what we can to make this season
the best possible!
