the fleet

The Good Hope Cannery fleet is custom-designed to be the most powerful, safe and comfortable on the Inlet, built of welded aluminum to our specifications made by Ironwood Boats of New Westminster, BC. All boats are equipped with top of the line safety and navigation equipment, including well-stocked first aid kits and personal floatation devices. Small touches like T-tops protect all our guests from sun and rain; bigger innovations, like the heads (toilets) in our guideboats, are hands-down favorites for our female guests.

We offer both U-Drive boats, for guests who wish to venture out on their own, and Guide boats, for those who prefer to fish in the company of one of our resident experts.

U-Drive boats are 20-foot center console Ironwoods with a 90-horsepower Yamaha four-stroke engine. Each is equipped with an Icom VHF radio, electronic and paper charts, GPS and depth sounder. Along with bait, Trophy XL rods and Islander reels. Also halibut gear available- just ask the dock boys to throw it on board for you.

Guide boats are 25-foot center console Ironwoods with twin 150-horsepower Yamaha four-stoke engines as well as a 9.9 HP trolling motor. Guide boats are equipped with everything: radio, charts, GPS, depth sounder, radar, satellite radios for music and news, even deck chairs, along with the aforementioned head.
