rivers Inlet
The Good Hope Cannery sits midway up the coast of British Columbia in Rivers Inlet- a stroke of geographical luck. Rivers Inlet is 40 isolated miles of rugged beauty carved out of our Coastal Mountains by ancient glaciers whose emerald green runoff meets the nutrient rich Pacific to create fishing heaven.
Our unique mid-Inlet location (and the best fleet of boats on the coast) allows guests to enjoy the bounty and angling variety of two distinct worlds – protected Inlet and beckoning ocean. All five of the Pacific’s salmon are found in Rivers Inlet: Chinook (King), Coho (Silver), Pink, Chum and Sockeye. Bottomfish like ling cod, rock fish and halibut also thrive here, providing challenging alternatives to salmon.
Guests can fish in and around our own bay, at the head of the Inlet or at the mouth of the Inlet in Fitz Hugh Sound which marks the southern start of the fabled Inside Passage. With fish returning to one of three rivers at the head of the Inlet and with other southbound fish holding just outside the Inlet until tides draw them on, you really can’t pick a bad spot to try your luck (or apply your skill). |
